10/7/2023 0 Comments Cubase vs reaper 2019![]() I've just switched from 500euro Cubase 8 Pro to Reaper and not looking back.īut you may not like it. I have downloaded Reaper and I will definitely spend sometime with it! And the customization in Reaper seems to be very very fascinating. I dont even have omnisphere but its on my drool list and from that point, the biggest change you can make with software is probably with VSTI instruments.īuy a new DAW, or spectrasonics omnisphere and see which one makes your next song sound more different To be honest, as a bedroom artist which DAW you use doesn't make much difference in how your recordings end up sounding. something else I needed that would improve my capability. If I was weighing the option between the two you posted, I would get Reaper (or maybe just stick with cubase 5 unless there is an essential function missing) and use the money saved to expand my DAW with a great VSTI instrument or maybe an interface.monitors. The default theme is function over form, but even the default theme can look pretty slick. If you spend some time with the customization of the UI you can make Reaper look pretty slick. Reaper is really deep and has the reputation for a steep learning curve, but honestly for my workflow (maybe my needs for a DAW are simple), it wasn't all that much to learn. I do not have experience with cubase, but I do have a similiar workflow as you (record guitars, superior drummer) ![]() ![]() Having started way back with C-Lab Notator in the late '80s, I feel spoilt rotten by what's available. It seems to me that it's possible to do pretty much anything you need to do in any full version of a modern DAW, each offer their own strengths and weaknesses but they're all very complete packages. I've also spent time working in Sonar and Studio One. I wasn't tempted by Cubase Artist 8 for the reasons stereolost listed - if I was very broke, I wouldn't have made the change. I haven't run into any stability issues with Cubase, it's been as reliable as Reaper over the month I've been using it. I've recently purchased Cubase 8 Pro after a couple of years of primarily using Reaper, mainly because I work mostly in MIDI and Cubase Pro's Note Expression, Expression Mapping and Scoring offer workflow possibilities unlikely to appear in Reaper in the foreseeable future. This may actually be more efficient for those without a strong preference for how things should be done tinkerers have ample opportunity to consume their time configuring rather than producing, both in Reaper and Unix.įrom your list of interests, the only weakness you might find in Reaper is in MIDI programming, and even there it's very capable. Other DAWs have a greater tendency to impose a workflow. Once you become familiar with it you can likely make it work very efficiently as you wish to work, always provided that you know how you wish to work. Reaper allows you to assemble functionality to suit your preferred way of working, at the cost of bewildering some newcomers with a vast array of options and resources requiring initial time and effort to learn. A clumsy analogy is that Reaper is to Other DAWs as Unix is to Windows - each offer similar capabilities, but presented differently. The major difference I find between Reaper and other DAWs is the ability/requirement to customise it if you want to benefit from the workflow efficiencies its flexibility offers. You might consider trialling with the pre-release version, which has some added capabilities. It'll give you plenty of time to decide if you can make Reaper work for you. I'd strongly recommend installing Reaper and using it for the full trial period before putting your hand in your pocket and making a decision. Plz be as unbiased as possible Reaper people! =D But I've heard extremely great feedback about Reaper from experienced producers and I'm willing to learn. One other issue is that I found Reaper SO different from Cubase, and it doesn't look as slick as Cubase. I do electric guitar/bass tracking a lot, program instruments a lot (Superior Drummer) and also do mixing, editing and mastering. On the contrary, if Cubase 8 Artist is not that much better than the $60 Reaper, or it's not even as good as Reaper, then I will go with Reaper. My mentality is that if Cubase 8 Artist is much much better than Reaper, then aight I will spend the $300. So my question is: Reaper and Cubase 8 Artist, which one is better and why (pros and cons)? As I said, I'm broke and I want to save money whenever possible. However, I feel like I really have to get an up-to-date DAW for better workflow/production or w/e. Because I'm very broke, I am still using Cubase 5 and I'm fairly satisfied with it.

10/7/2023 0 Comments Gutter screens vs gutter guards![]() Silicone adhesives will become brittle over time and will cause the mesh to break loose then fail. On many occasions the installers do a poor job or use a low grade silicone. One caution, however, one manufactures glues the screen to a plastic frame in the field using a variety of silicone adhesives. This will create better capillary action which allows more water to pass through the screen in downpours. Using a rubberized adhesive to glue the mesh in place is the best as it will stretch with expansion and contraction due to heat and cold always allowing the screen mesh to remain tight to the frame. The preferred method is to glue the screen into the frame that will allow a separation between the mesh and frame. When crimping aluminum with stainless steel you create an environment for galvanic action that will lead to corrosion. This process will typically damage the screen and the frame in such a manner that they will fail over time. For example, several companies crimp the sheet metal and frame using automatic presses. ![]() Manufacturing processes vary greatly and can either enhance the performance or detract from it. We recommend the 50 mesh or 30 mesh systems. Other manufactures use a larger hole configuration such as 30 mesh or even as large as 18 mesh. The 50 mesh has holes so small that even the smallest debris or shingle grit will not penetrate the mesh. The most common micro mesh screens are 50 mesh or 30 mesh. The very best is 316L which is a surgical grade and is used in underwater or medical applications.Īdditionally the micro mesh comes with a variety of hole sizes. The 304 and 308 are low grade stainless that will corrode quickly. There are different grades of stainless steel, but generally the type used in fine mesh systems are 304, 308, 316 and 316L. When the frame warps it loses its ability to capture water and, in many cases, the mesh will come loose and detach from the frame. Not only do they lack durability, they have a tendency to warp in hot and cold temperatures. Micro mesh gutter guards made with plastic frames are generally the worst. Sheet metal guards are typically very thin (.017-.027 thick) which damages easily and will, even if painted, interact with copper and steel and corrode over time. This allows them to be installed on copper and steel gutters. Another benefit of extruded aluminum is that they can be anodized to protect the finish. The materials cost more, but they offer long term durability. Additionally, those that use aluminum or sheet metal use different types of coating to enhance the performance.Įxtruded aluminum frames are by far the best. The frame for example can be made from extruded aluminum, aluminum sheet metal or even plastic. We also want to point out that these differences will dramatically alter the performance. This, however, is where the similarity ends as each manufacturer will use different types and quality of materials and use different methods to manufacturer those products. Most Micro Mesh guards have two components, a frame and stainless steel mesh. Micro Mesh Gutter Covers are the only completely sealed system that prevents debris of any size to enter the gutter and create a potential water damage problem. ARMOURGUARDįine Mesh Gutter Guards are gaining market share as the preferred gutter guard system. Micro Mesh Video from All Weather Armour, LLC on Vimeo. 10/7/2023 0 Comments Kite realty group trust

We’ve been working with youth in our communities for decades. : Pete and I both have experience in education. TWIP: What made you determine that the PinBox 3000 was needed? We started going to the Chicago convention, then Pintastic, and then became enamored by the ingenuity and variety of pinball games that kept us hungry to do more with our versatile kit. We began to pursue more pinball playing around Vermont and found pockets in Burlington. We made revision after revision and refined the project into the robust little machine we have today. Our first PinBox 3000 games were getting their first major playtest, and the reviews were great. We made about 10 of those and put them out at parties and playtested them at the afterschool program I was running at the time. Our initial prototypes were nearly the size of a normal pin. Now we could make multiples instead of one sculptural piece. Pete was determined and focused to get a proof-of-concept. We had a two month artist-in-residence at the Generator Maker Space in Burlington where we learned to use the laser cutter. But I loved the idea as a “gravitational puppetry artform”. At that time, the hobby didn’t have any footing for miles around. This is Vermont, so I hadn’t touched a pinball in a decade. I remember closing down the show and saying “now we have to make a pinball game”. When I met Pete, we started making shows together and he agreed to help devise a giant show that involved hip hop, live bands, and giant puppets called Grottoblaster. Building interactive cardboard experiences was inspiring to me, and satisfied my interest in making games as theater. I had also built cardboard pinball games for an outdoor carnival that was held in the deep woods of Northern Vermont. My friends and I would build these weird and wild arcade and pinball games out of cardboard for our audiences. I co-owned a Cafe in Montpelier Vermont and we had these wild art shows. I can still hear the game: “GREEEEED!”įlash forward about 12 years and I’m a puppeteer and performing artist working in Vermont. I would go between acting classes and learn that game and I loved it. On 10 January 1916, Canon David John Garland was appointed the honorary secretary of the Anzac Day Commemoration Committee of Queensland (ADCCQ) at a public meeting which endorsed 25 April as the date to be promoted as "Anzac Day" in 1916 and ever after. However, the first instance of what would soon become an annual national ritual of observance – Anzac Day – started in Queensland. Melbourne observed an Anzac Remembrance Day on 17 December 1915. ![]() The name "Anzac Day" was chosen through a competition, won by Robert Wheeler, a draper of Prospect. Also in South Australia, Eight Hour Day, 13 October 1915, was renamed "Anzac Day" and a carnival was organised to raise money for the Wounded Soldiers Fund. The original native pines and remnant seedlings of the original wattles still grow in "Wattle Grove", but in 1940 the Adelaide City Council moved the monument and its surrounding pergola a short distance away to Lundie Gardens. The monument was originally the centrepiece of the Wattle Day League's Gallipoli Memorial Wattle Grove on Sir Lewis Cohen Avenue in the South Park Lands. Īdelaide, South Australia, was the site of Australia's first built memorial to the Gallipoli landing, unveiled by Governor-General Sir Ronald Munro Ferguson on " Wattle Day", 7 September 1915, just over four months after the first landings. On 30 April 1915, when the first news of the landing reached New Zealand, a half-day holiday was declared and impromptu services were held. The heroism of the soldiers in the failed Gallipoli campaign made their sacrifices iconic in New Zealand memory, and is often credited with securing the psychological independence of the nation. This has shaped the way their citizens have viewed both their past and their understanding of the present. The creation of what became known as an " Anzac legend" became an important part of the national identity in both countries. Though the Gallipoli campaign failed to achieve its military objectives of capturing Constantinople and knocking the Ottoman Empire out of the war, the actions of the Australian and New Zealand troops during the campaign bequeathed an intangible but powerful legacy. News of the landing at Gallipoli made a profound impact on Australians and New Zealanders at home and 25 April quickly became the day on which they remembered the sacrifice of those who had died in the war. The Allied deaths totalled over 56,000, including 8,709 from Australia and 2,721 from New Zealand. At the end of 1915, the Allied forces were evacuated after both sides had suffered heavy casualties and endured great hardships. What had been planned as a bold strike to knock the Ottomans out of the war quickly became a stalemate, and the campaign dragged on for eight months. The ANZAC force landed at Gallipoli on 25 April, meeting fierce resistance from the Ottoman Army commanded by Mustafa Kemal (later known as Atatürk). The objective was to capture Constantinople, the capital of the Ottoman Empire, which was an ally of Germany during the war. In 1915, Australian and New Zealand soldiers formed part of an Allied expedition that set out to capture the Gallipoli Peninsula to open the way to the Black Sea for the Allied navies.
